PHILADELPHIA- Senior Whitney Richards ended the Atlantic 10 regular season with her third A-10 Player of the Week award. The midfielder led the Owls to a win over George Washington and a hard fought overtime loss to Richmond to finish with a 6-1 Conference record.
Richards scored six goals and dished five assists in two games. In the 12-10 win at GW, she scored three goals on four shots, including the game-winner, and dished three assists. She also had five draw controls, three groundballs and two caused turnovers to complete her strong performance. Just two days later, Richards had three goals and two assists including two late goals to give Temple a lead in a double-overtime loss to Richmond on Apr. 13. The senior added six groundballs, four draw controls and three caused turnovers.
Richards leads Temple in goals and assists, posting 35 goals and 26 assists in 13 games. She is also tops in groundballs (40) and caused turnovers (27).
