Women's Tennis Advances to A-10 Semifinals

MONROEVILLE, PA - The women's tennis team advanced to the semifinals in the Atlantic 10 Championships today. The Owls got big wins in singles from Elyse Steiner and Anastasiia Rukavyshnykova on the way to their 4-0 victory over the seventh-seeded Charlotte 49ers. Felicia Frazier received a win via forfeit to round out the singles winners for Temple.
Steiner teamed up with Dina Senkina in an 8-3 win over their opposition from Charlotte while Lucie Pazderova and Theresa Stangl came up with a big 8-4 doubles win as well. These two victories secured the doubles point in the quarterfinal victory for the Owls.
Temple has their next match tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. against the winner of tonight's matchup between third-seeded Richmond and sixth-seeded Rhode Island. First-seeded Massachusetts was the other team that advanced in the early quarterfinals on Friday. The Owls hope to defeat their opponent tomorrow in order to advance to Sunday's final at 10:30 a.m.
