PHILADELPHIA - The Temple football team took the field on a cool, overcast, and windy day on Thursday at Edberg-Olson Hall during its eighth spring practice session. The session marked the halfway point of the spring season.
Following each day of spring practice, the coaching staff awards a "Player of the Day" for the offense, defense, and special teams. Today's honorees were RB/WR Jason Harper (offense), CB Daryl Robinson (defense), and LB Stephen Johnson (special teams).
Temple's next practice is Saturday, April 5. . The TU coaching staff will hold its second session of the 2008 Spring Development Series. The clinic sessions are FREE to all coaches. The TU coaches have chosen to focus and concentrate on the hottest topics in the game today. Saturday's session will focus on the spread game, showcasing the hottest schemes and innovations in offensive and defensive football. The clinic begins at 8:30 a.m. Temple's team practice starts at 12:50 p.m. Both events will be held at Edberg-Olson Hall.

Temple opens the 2008 season at Army on Friday, August 29. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. before a national television audience on ESPNU or ESPN Classic. The Owls host Connecticut on Sept. 6 at Lincoln Financial Field in their home opener.
