PHILADELPHIA - The Temple football team took the field on a beautiful, sunny day at Edberg-Olson Hall on Saturday during its ninth spring practice session. The Owls' practiced was observed by more than 150 high school coaches who attended a morning coaching clinic present by Al Golden and his staff.
Following each day of spring practice, the coaching staff awards a "Player of the Day" for the offense, defense, and special teams. Today's honorees were FB Lamar McPherson (offense), LB Alex Joseph (defense), and LB Amara Kamara (special teams).
Temple's next practice is Tuesday, April 8.
Temple opens the 2008 season at Army on Friday, August 29. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. before a national television audience on ESPNU or ESPN Classic. The Owls host Connecticut on Sept. 6 at Lincoln Financial Field in their home opener.
