Hamilton, N.Y. The Temple women's soccer team attempted to mount a second half comeback but could not convert, falling, 1-0, to Marist on Friday night in the opening round of the Puma Invitational. The Owls drop to 0-1 on the season and take on Fairfield on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
The only goal of the game came as a result of the play of Marist's Lauren Tillotson. She made a run from the center back position, and crossed the ball into the 18-meter box, where she connected with Kate Fox. Fox buried the ball in the back of the net, past the Temple goalkeeper Kara Williams. Amanda Vogelman took the lone shot for the Owls.
Williams stopped five shots in her sophomore debut.
