• Temple Game Captains: #13 QB Adam DiMichele (offense), #59 C Alex Derenthal (offense), #21 DB Dominique Harris (defense), and #91 DT Elisha Joseph (Defense).
• Carrying flags for Temple today were #98 NT Andre Neblett, #17 LB Omar McDonnaugh-Hales, and #73 OT Devin Tyler.
• The coaches' scout team Players of the Week--freshmen #62 OL Steve Ciocci (Royersford, Pa.) and #4 CB Jared Williams (Pittsburgh, Pa.)--made the trip to Buffalo. It is the first road trip for both freshmen. The duo dressed for last week's home game against Connecticut, but neither saw game action.
• The last time Temple won a conference opener on the road came in 1964, five years before head coach Al Golden was born. [W, 38-13 at Lafayette in Middle Atlantic Conference play, Oct. 17, 1964]
• Freshman DT Muhammad Wilkerson made his collegiate debut as an Owl.
• Freshman RB Joe Jones scored his first collegiate touchdown with a 1-yard run in the second quarter.
• R-senior C Alex Derenthal has started 38 consecutive games.
• Senior WR Bruce Francis has made a reception in 29 consecutive games.
• Senior DT Terrance Knighton's fumble recovery in the second quarter was his first this season and the fourth of his career. Temple scored its third touchdown three plays later to hold a 21-14 lead at halftime.
• Sophomore CB Jamal Schulters' interception at the beginning fo the fourth quarter was his first this season and the third of his career.
• Thirteen freshmen, including 12 true freshmen, saw action in today's game.
