• Temple Game Captains: #13 QB Adam DiMichele (offense), #82 WR Bruce Francis (offense), #92 DT Terrance Knighton, #56 LB Amara Kamara (defense), and #16 DB Jaiquawn Jarrett (special teams).
• Carrying flags for Temple today were 52 DE Brian Sanford, #32 LB Quinen White, Jr., and #71 OL Jabari Ferguson.
• The coaches' scout team Players of the Week--juniors #57 OT Marcus Brown (Upper Marlboro, Md.) and #51 DE James Namude (Potomac, Md.)--made the trip to Happy Valley.
• Temple is the first team to hold Penn State scoreless in the first quarter this season. The Nittany Lions had scored at least two touchdowns in the first quarter of their first three games.
• Redshirt junior DB Dominique Harris' interception in the first quarter was his second this season and the seventh of his career.
• Sophomore P Jeff Wathne had a career-high 11 punts for a career-high 457 yards.
• In his second appearance at quarterback this season, redshirt freshman QB Chester Stewart set career highs for completions (16), attempts (x), and yards (116).
• Sophomore DB Jamal Schulters had a career-high (three) kickoff returns.
• R-senior C Alex Derenthal has started 39 consecutive games.
• Senior WR Bruce Francis has made a reception in 30 consecutive games.
• Fourteen freshmen, including 12 true freshmen, saw action in today's game.
• Today's crowd of 105,106 is the second largest crowd to ever see Temple play [on the road]. The largest away crowd in TU school history was 105,950 at Penn State in 2006.
• The last time Temple beat Penn State came in 1941 with a 14-0 victory at Temple Stadium.
• Including today's contest, Temple has played 73 nationally ranked opponents since 1974. The Owls have just two upsets--a 28-24 win over No. 14 Virginia Tech [Oct. 17, 1998] and a 24-21 win over No. 16 Pittsburgh [Sept. 19, 1987]. Both upset victories were on the road.
