Dionte Christmas Rated As A-10's Top Returnee

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University senior Dionte Christmas has been rated as the top returning player in the Atlantic 10 Conference by College Chalktalk.com. Christmas, who became the third player in A-10 history to repeat as league scoring champion, was joined among the Top 25 returnees by teammates Lavoy Allen (#21) and Ryan Brooks (#25).
Christmas, who averaged 19.7 points per game, has scored 1,381 points to rank 26th on the Temple all-time scoring list. His 670 points scored during the 2007-08 season is the 12th highest total in the 114-year history of Owl basketball.
The Philadelphia native (Philadelphia Lutheran Christian Academy) also set a new single season record for three-point field goals with 104 made. He now has connected on 212 three-pointers for his career to rank sixth on the TU all-time list.
A 2008 First Team all-Atlantic 10 Conference selection, Christmas earned A-10 Player of the Week honors three times during the 2007-08 season and his seven career weekly honors ties him for fourth on the A-10 all-time list. Former teammate Mardy Collins, now with the NY Knicks, also had seven A-10 Player of the Week honors, to tie Christmas for most in Temple history.
