Richmond, Va.– The Temple women's soccer team (4-6-1, 0-3-0) continued conference play Friday evening, losing to Richmond (6-5-1, 2-1-0) 2-1. Sophomore Niki Conn netted the Owls' lone goal in the second half, her seventh on the season. Threatening early and often, TU tallied six shots on goal but could not capitalize. The first half would go scoreless, the Owls out-shooting Richmond 9-5. The Spiders opened the scoring in the 49th minute, with Natalie LeClair netting unassisted. Carter Blair would put Richmond up 2-0 in the 82nd minute, tallying on a free kick from Liza Kock. Conn would attempt to give the Owls a late surge, finding the back of the net on a corner from junior Sara Scheid. Junior keeper Kara Williams made five saves on the game. Classmate Meridith Crowell led TU with four shots on goal. The Owls travel to face A-10 foe George Washington on Sunday, with action starting at 1:00 p.m.
