Yurkovic tallies for TU, Owls allow costly late goals

Washington, DC - The Temple women's soccer team fell to (4-7-1, 0-4-0 A-10) George Washington Sunday afternoon 2-1. Sophomore Allicia Yurkovic put the Owls up first, netting unassisted in the 58th minute. Two unanswered goals two minutes apart would put the Colonials ahead for good.

The Cherry and White played another solid first half, thanks in part to keeper Kara Williams' five saves. Junior Meridith Crowell continues to attack the net leading the way with three shots on goal.

Yurkovic struck in the 58th minute, gathering a rebound off of a corner, and sending it to the back of the net to put the Owls up 1-0.

George Washington answered in the 67th minute, with Adriana Moya netting off of a corner pass from Kristin Slack. Ashley Starks would net the game winner just minutes later, finding an empty net in the 69th minute to put GW up for good, 2-1.

The Owls return home next weekend to face off with St. Bonaventure on October 4th at 1:00 p.m.
