Owls come up short offensively and fall to 2-1 in conference play

DAYTON, Ohio – The offense never quite came alive for the Owls as the Temple volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss at A-10 foe Dayton by scores of 25-15, 25-10 and 25-15.
The only player for Temple with more than three kills was the team's leader all season thus far, Yun Yi Zhang, who finished with 11.
Dayton, currently the sixth team receiving votes outside the AVCA Division I Coaches Top 25 Poll, improves to 12-2 with the win and 2-0 in Atlantic 10 play. Temple now stands at 6-6 overall and 2-1 in the conference.
Hitting .440 as a team for the match, the Flyers were in control throughout, as Temple hit just .079 as a team. Dayton led all the way through sets one and two, while the third set had three ties early on.
Lindsay Flatemier led Dayton with 13 kills while Amanda Cowdrey tallied 11 kills along with nine digs.
The Cherry and White will be back in action tomorrow, playing at Xavier at 4:00 p.m.
