Women's Tennis Competes at ITA/Wilson Regionals

BLACKSBURG, Va. - Temple women's tennis players Anastasiia Rukavyshnykova, Lucie Pazderova and Theresa Stangl represented the Owls at the ITA/Wilson Regionals, held at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center on the campus of Virginia Tech from Thursday, October 22 to Monday, October 26. Pazderova and Stangl teamed up for doubles play, while Rukavyshnykova was Temple's singles competitor.
Pazderova and Stangl got play started for the Cherry and White on Friday morning, squaring off against Catherine Kellner and Isabell Raich of Marshall. Kellner and Raich, the third-seed coming out of the qualifying round, were too much for the Temple duo to handle, dropping them 8-4.
In singles play, Rukavyshnykova lost her match to Maryland's Lisa Miller, 6-1, 6-3.
All three Temple players will compete in singles action in the consolation round on Saturday.
