Softball Inks Four to National Letters of Intent

PHILADEPHIA – Head Temple softball coach Joe DiPietro has announced the signing of four players to the class of 2014. Devynne Nelons, Stephanie Pasquale, Sarah Prezioso and Brooke White will begin their careers with the Owls during the 2011 season.
Devynne Nelons is a 5-8 third baseman who hails from Tacoma, Wash. (Stadium H.S.) For the past three seasons, Nelons has been named first-team all-league and won the Gold Glove Award during the 2009 campaign. In addition to softball, Nelons is also involved in volunteering at Tacoma Rescue and Mission, as well as her church, and plans to major in nursing while on North Broad Street. Nelons also plays for the Washington LadyHawks Gold over the summer.

Catcher/first baseman Stephanie Pasquale is from Pompton Lakes, N.J. (Pompton Lakes H.S.). During her junior season, the 5-7 Pasquale was named second-team all-state for the first time in her career. She was also named both all-league and all-county during her sophomore and junior seasons.
“Steph is a strong player who can hit to all fields,” DiPietro said. “She has the ability to excel both behind the plate and at first base. Her bat will provide depth in the middle of the lineup as soon as next year.”
Sarah Prezioso is a 5-9 shortstop from Bloomfield, N.J. (Bloomfield H.S.). Prezioso had an outstanding junior season as she hit .561 and led the team in homeruns (6), RBI's (32), stolen bases (14), and fielding percentage (.997). Over the summer Prezioso played with fellow Owl recruit Stephanie Pasquale on the Pride Gold (N.J.). During the summer season, she showed her offensive power, clubbing 23 homeruns.
“Sarah is an outstanding player who will make her presence in the lineup known immediately,” remarked DiPietro. “Her strong and accurate arm along with her power bat will put her into position to anchor our team at shortstop and hit from the top of our lineup.”
Temple adds to the pitching rotation with Brooke White, a 5-9 pitcher from Temecula, Calif. (Temecula Valley H.S.). White, who had been named to the All Southwestern League three times and
