Business as Usual on Christmas Day

Washington, D.C.-- While most families were gathered around the tree opening presents this morning, the Temple University football team was in the midst of a different kind of celebration-- bowl game preparation.
Following a team breakfast at the hotel, the team and coaches departed for another practice session at Good Counsel High School in Olney, Md. The prescription turf field was clear while mounds of snow from last week's blizzard graced the sidelines. The weather was calm, but dense fog rolled in.
The team returned to its hotel for Christmas dinner. Following a buffet of turkey and ham, the Owls received presents from Santa and sang “The 12 Days of Christmas” and “Jingle Bells”.
The Owls (9-3, 7-1 MAC) face UCLA (6-6, 3-5 Pac-10) in the 2009 EagleBank Bowl at RFK Stadium on Tuesday, Dec. 29 at 4:30 p.m. ESPN will televise the game.
