Owls Meet UCLA at Luncheon; Tour Capital Sites

Washington, D.C.-- The countdown to gametime has begun!
With just 48 hours to go before taking the field against UCLA in the 2009 EagleBank Bowl, the Temple University football team had a very busy day on Sunday.
The Owls practiced for two hours in the morning at Eastern High School near RFK Stadium. The weather was perfect-- comfortable temperatures and plenty of sunshine.
The Temple and UCLA teams were introduced at the formal bowl luncheon at the JW Marriott Hotel. The home team Owls also brought their cheerleaders, Diamond Gem dance team, Hooter the Owl, and the marching band for the festivities.
In the evening, the Owls enjoyed a two-hour bus tour of the Washington sites with photo opportunities at the White House Christmas tree, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Jefferson Memorial.
The Owls (9-3, 7-1 MAC) face UCLA (6-6, 3-5 Pac-10) in the 2009 EagleBank Bowl at RFK Stadium on Tuesday, Dec. 29 at 4:30 p.m. ESPN will televise the game.
