Pazderova Named Atlantic 10 Performer Of The Week

PHILADELPHIA - Sophomore Lucie Pazderova, who was a perfect 4-0 in two Temple wins this weekend, has been named the Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week, the league office announced today. The Czech Republic native did not drop a set in her two singles matches against Army and St. John's, both 5-2 TU victories.
She opened the weekend with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Army's Sarah Giles-Madden at third singles. Pazderova also teamed with classmate Theresa Stangl to capture a 8-4 win at third doubles over Caitlin Finnegan/Anne Houghton.
On Sunday against St. John's, Pazderova beat Joanna Zwirbulis, 6-2, 6-2, at #3 and with Stangl, beat Gabija Gasiunaite and Alyssa Liantonio.
The sophomore is 6-8 in singles competition and 12-5 in doubles this season.
Temple (2-2) returns to action on Friday when it hosts Drexel at noon at the Arthur Ashe Tennis Center.
