Temple Falls To Division II Power Lynn, 6-3

BOCA RATON, FL - Lynn, ranked fourth nationally in Division II, remained undefeated with a 6-3 victory over Temple on Tuesday in Boca Raton, FL. The Fighting Knights (9-0) have now beat three Division I opponents this season. Temple falls to 8-5 with the loss.
The only Owl duo to capture a doubles victory was juniors Anastasiia Rukavyshnykova and Christine Clermont, who won 8-6 at the second position, leaving the visitors in a 2-1 hole heading into singles play.
Junior Elyse Steiner won 6-3, 6-4 at first singles over #43 Katerina Jiskrova to snap a four match losing streak. But she joined Rukavyshnykova as the only Temple singles winner as the Kiev, Ukraine native won 6-4, 7-5 at fourth singles for her sixth straight win.
Sophomore Theresa Stangl took #30 Magdalena Ekert to three sets before falling 6-2, 1-6, 6-3 and Clermont also went three sets before falling to #6 Eleonora Iannozzi, 2-6, 6-4, 10-4. The loss snapped a six match winning streak for Clermont.
Temple visits St. Thomas on Wednesday in its final match of its spring break trip.
