Rams Earns A-10 Performer And Rookie Of The Week Honors

PHILADELPHIA - Temple freshman Filip Rams has been named the Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Performer and Rookie of the Week, the league office announced today. He shares both awards with Ugar Atalay of George Washington. It marks the fourth A-10 Rookie of the Week award and second Performer of the Week honor that Rams has received this season.
Rams opened the week with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Rider's Casey Jedlinski at #1 singles as part of the Owls' 7-0 victory. He also teamed with senior Eduardo Saavedra to beat Jedlinski and Will Haight, 8-1, at #1 doubles.
One day later, Rams beat Brian Maher of Villanova, 6-4, 6-3, at #2 singles in Temple's 4-3 victory. He also teamed with Saavedra in a 9-8 win at #1 doubles.
Rams leads the team and the conference with 23 singles wins. He has won six straight matches.
He won the A-10 Performer of the Week on January 19 and the Rookie of the Week on January 19, February 2, and April 4.
The Owls will visit city rival La Salle on Tuesday at 3:30 PM in their final regular season match of the spring.
