Women's Lacrosse Places Four On Atlantic 10 All-Conference Teams

PHILADELPHIA- Juniors Tracy Zimmer and Jessica Colucci were named to the Atlantic 10 Conference's Women's Lacrosse Second Team, as announced today by the Conference office. Rookie Missy Schweitzer garnered All-Rookie honors, while junior Chelsea Rosiek earned a spot on the All-Academic Team.
Zimmer has been one of Temple's top defenders for the last three seasons, often drawing the assignment of guarding the opponents top attacker. She started in all 15 games this year, collecting team-highs of 20 draw controls and 17 caused turnovers. Zimmer also scored one goal in the game at Towson and had 27 groundballs, the highest team tally for a field player.
Colucci was the anchor of the Temple defense this season, stopping 155 shots in 836 minutes of action in goal. She led the A-10 in saves per game (10.33 spg) and groundballs per game (2.47) after compiling a team-high 37 groundballs. Colucci was also second in caused turnovers, forcing 13 opponent miscues. She had double digit saves in 10 games, including a team-high 19 in the game against Princeton.
Schweitzer had extremely productive second half of the season, earning a starting role in the final five games of the regular season. She was second in scoring, netting 17 goals and dishing two assists and posted hat tricks in games against Binghamton, St. Bonaventure and Duquesne. Schweitzer was nearly flawless in her shot conversion, making 82% of her shots on goal.
Rosiek is a top performer both on and off the field, boasting a 3.35 GPA as an english major. The junior is tops on the team in assists, dishing 14, and is fourth in the A-10 in assists per game.
The Owls finished with a 2-5 record in the Atlantic 10, including a win over second-place Richmond.
