PHILADELPHIA- The Temple women's lacrosse team will use its final two homes games to honor Devon Lam, the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation and the Susan G. Komen Foundation, April 17 and April 29.
Temple will recognize the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation, the organization that matched the team with its honorary teammate Devon Lam, during its April 17th game against St. Bonaventure. The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation is a non-profit, charitable organization that improves the quality of life for children suffering with pediatric brain tumors by matching them with college or high school sports teams. It is out of the shared experience of athletics and the connection of being a part of a team that a truly special relationship is formed between the child, their family, and the team. Devon passed away in December after a long battle with a pediatric brain tumor. To learn more about the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation or to donate, please visit www.friendsofjaclyn.org
The Cherry and White will recognize its three seniors, Brittney Hoffman, Andrea DeSabato and Lauren Carey in a pre-game ceremony before the Owls April 29 contest against Lafayette. The trio has been instrumental in the Owls success over the last four years, leading the team to 30 wins and an Atlantic 10 Championship. Hoffman leads this years team in scoring with 18 goals and one assist. The game will also aim to promote breast cancer awareness, a disease that effects millions of women worldwide every year.
