Softball's Krystle Metzler Named to ESPN the Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District II First Team

PHILADELPHIA - Junior Krystle Metzler of the Temple softball has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District II First Team, the collegiate sports information directors' association announced Thursday.
The Cosdia recognition is the first for Metzler, and it comes on the heels of her being named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team for the first time.
Metzler, a business management major with a cumulative grade point average of 3.88, was the Owls' starting catcher for all 40 games this season, Metzler sported a .996 fielding percentage behind the plate while catching 12 runners stealing.
To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must have a 3.20 cumulative GPA and cannot be freshmen or first-year transfers.
