To start things off, I've got some good news to share with everyone. The Eagles have invited me back for their upcoming camps that begin on May 18th. I'm extremely excited and thankful about the situation!

But to be honest, my family and close friends seem happier than I am. They're thrilled about the opportunity and enjoyed hearing my stories I had from the mini-camp I attended last week. They're right when they tell me, "Not everyone gets an opportunity to put on an Eagles' helmet, so enjoy every second of it."

Don't get me wrong, I plan on enjoying my time with the Eagles, but I'm trying to do a little more here. I want to do something unique, and I know it's going to be difficult to accomplish. I'll let you in on a little promise I made myself before this all started. I promised myself that I would do anything in my power and put everything I have into making a good impression on the coaching staff and ultimately having the possibility of making the team.

I took a quick flight home Thursday after talking with my oldest brother Dom and my father. I wasn't planning on coming back to Pittsburgh until maybe sometime in June, but they filled me in on everything that was happening and how everyone would be home, so we booked the flight. (Once again, don't ever fly with me. It never fails; the flight was delayed a few hours).

I got home Thursday afternoon around 4 p.m. I stopped over to see my niece Ava (6) and nephew Dominic (2). Ava is my princess, and I would do anything in the world for her, but today, she challenged me to a game of Wii bowling. I'm a competitive person, and I hate losing more than I enjoy winning. Early on, she was doing her thing, and I was a little nervous about losing to my niece. I wasn't doing too well, but that changed when Ava started talking a little bit trash, and she hit me a few times when I got a strike ... HAHA. I know you'll be disappointed in me, but I ended up beating her by 10 pins. I know if I ever play her again, she's probably going to beat me, so I'll stay away from the Wii for a bit.

Afterwards, I went down the street and brought my other two nephews, Isaiah (6) and Giovanni (4), over to my brother's. Isaiah had his basketball with him and was showing me how he dribbles between his legs now. He's becoming a pretty good little athlete. Watch out for him in the future. Giovanni and Dominic were going down the slide over and over and over and over and over and over and again. It was non-stop slide action with them two. When you've been away at school for just about 4 1/2 years, these kind of days are special. I've missed their birthdays, Halloween and their costumes, first days of school, and their first time riding bikes without training wheels. It's really difficult when you're not around for those special moments, so I try to cherish the time spent with them.

Thursday was my brother Alex's 22nd birthday. His girlfriend Juliana (really sweet girl and perfect for Alex) and my two younger brothers decided to throw him a little surprise birthday party. We invited some friends he went to high school with and a couple of his teammates at Robert Morris. My man J-Will really wanted me to put his name in this blog, so here goes, hope you're happy now (Marge's on Saturday ... haha).

Everything was set up at my sister Tanya's house, and obviously Alex didn't have the slightest idea about the party. He walked through the door, and we surprised him (this was the second year in a row that we had a surprise party for him; he didn't have a clue about either one). My youngest brother Nico had his cake waiting for him. The entire time Alex was on the porch, my nephew Isaiah kept screaming "surprise", HAHA, he's too funny. Luckily, Alex didn't hear him.

That night, things were really calm and relaxed. We watched the Cleveland-Atlanta basketball game, reminisced about our high school days, and just enjoyed being around everyone again. All in all, it was a successful night. Being with friends and family, that's all I really need. No worries in the world.

Finally, I just wanted to wish my lovely mother, Joanie DiMichele, and all of the other mothers out there, a

Happy Mother's Day.

"Most of all the other beautiful things in life come
by twos and threes by dozens and hundreds.
Plenty of roses, stars, sunsets, rainbows,
brothers, and sisters, aunts and cousins,
but only one mother in the whole world."

Talk to you on Graduation Day!!!
