12 Temple Players Receive Preseason Honors from Phil Steele

PHILADELPHIA - Phil Steele released his preseason All-MAC Team on Tuesday, and 12 Temple football players have been recognized.

Earning first-team honors are senior nose tackle Andre Neblett (Rahway, N.J.) and junior cornerback Jamal Schulters (Brooklyn, N.Y.). Schulters also received fourth-team recognition at kick returner.

Junior offensive guard Colin Madison (Villa Park, Ill.) and senior linebacker Alex Joseph (Stamford, Conn.) are preseason second-team All-MAC selections.

Junior linebacker Amara Kamara (Newark, N.J.) is a third-team honoree.

Senior wide receiver Jason Harper (Budd Lake, N.J.), sophomore offensive guard Pat Boyle (Towson, Md.), sophomore defensive end Adrian Robinson (Harrisburg, Pa.), and junior safety Jaiquawn Jarrett (Brooklyn, N.Y.) are fourth-team All-MAC picks.

Earning Honorable Mention are senior running back Lamar McPherson (Philadelphia, Pa.), senior tight end Steve Maneri (Saddle Brook, N.J.), and senior safety Dominique Harris (Washington, D.C.).

As a team, Temple has been selected to finish second in the East Division of the Mid-American Conference, tied with Akron, while Ohio is the top pick for the division crown.

Temple opens the 2009 season on Thursday, Sept. 3 with Villanova in the inaugural Mayor's Cup at Lincoln Financial Field.
