Norene Named To Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team

PHILADELPHIA - Temple senior Courtney Norene was named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area team, it was announced today. She is one of 10 student-athletes named to the team voted by the sports information offices at the 28 institutions in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

Norene batted .252 and led the team in home runs (six) and RBI (24) in 2009. She finishes her career as the program's leader in home runs with 28 and is third all-time in RBI (94).

A kinesiology major, Norene owns a 3.45 grade point average. She is joined by Ashley Botelho (Drexel), Lauren Davis (Ursinus), Brittany Ebersole (University of the Sciences in Philadelphia), Melissa Fetter (Immaculata), Jackie Sasko (Rowan), Bethany Pavlik (Delaware Valley), Dayna Phillips (University of the Sciences in Philadelphia), Alisha Prystowsky (Penn) and Kristie Sandefur (Cabrini).
