Owls Take the Day Off
PHILADELPHIA - The Temple University football team had Wednesday off from practice, but head coach Al Golden had a busy day.
At 7:45 a.m. he and Villanova coach Andy Talley appeared together on Fox 29's "Good Day Live" to promote the season opener between the two schools in the inaugural Mayor's Cup on Thursday, Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. at Lincoln Financial Field.
The coaches then headed to Mayor Michael Nutter's office for a press conference at 8:30 a.m. The Mayor and both coaches spoke. The trophy was also unveiled before the media, cheerleaders, and mascots from each school.
In the evening, Golden threw out the first pitch at the Phillies' game against Arizona at Citizens Bank Park.
