Seigfried nets lone goal, Owls unable to capitalize
Vestal, NY – The Temple women's soccer team generated several scoring chances Friday evening, but could not capitalize in a 3-1 loss to Binghamton. Freshman Morgyn Seigfried tallied her second goal in as many games, attempting to create a late first half surge for the Owls.
Binghamton wasted to time getting on the board, with Jamie Holliday netting under a minute into the contest. Holliday would post her second goal and what would be the eventual game-winner in the 18th minute.
A Bearcat insurance goal in the 83rd minute would halt any momentum the Cherry and White would have hoped to had gained on Seigfried's tally.
Owls' freshman keeper Gillian Kacsuta started in net, allowing two goals while making two saves. Junior Kara Williams made her first appearance in goal for TU in several games, allowing one goal and posting one save.
The Owls are back in action on Sunday when they take on Niagara at 1:00 p.m.
