A. Yurkovic's late tally nearly surmounts comeback for Owls
Niagara, NY – The Temple women's soccer team lost 2-1 in a hard fought battle with Niagara on Sunday. Sophomore Allicia Yurkovic attempted to mount a late comeback for the Owls, netting in the 77th minute.
Niagara opened the scoring in the 14th minute, when Jamie Raepple set up Chiara Greco for the game's first goal. In the 73rd minute, Michelle Emery notched the would-be game-winner unassisted as she pounced on loose ball in the box.
Minutes later Yurkovic tallied her second goal of the season on a beautiful pass from her sister Kate.
Both teams' had their scoring chances, especially the Cherry and White, who out shot their opponent 10-3 in the second half.
Up next the Owls are on the road September 25th, when they open conference play with A-10 foe Dayton at 6:00 p.m.
