Owls Host Buffalo in MAC Opener at Noon on Sept. 26

CLEVELAND (09/21/09) – Temple freshman Brandon McManus (Hatfield, Pa.) has earned Mid-American Conference Special Teams Player of the Week honors for the East division, the MAC announced on Monday.

McManus connected on two field goals and accounted for all of the Owls' points in a 31-6 decision at No. 5 Penn State last Saturday. McManus put Temple on the scoreboard with a 25-yard field goal in the first quarter, had an on-side kick, and added a 35-yard field goal in the third stanza.

McManus' kicking has been perfect this season, connecting on three field goal attempts and three points-after-touchdown. He leads the Owls in scoring with 12 points. He also averages 63.9 yards per kickoff.

The MAC honor is the first of McManus' collegiate career.

This week Temple (0-2, 0-0 MAC) hosts Buffalo (1-2, 0-0 MAC) on Saturday, Sept 26 in the MAC opener for both teams. Kickoff is set for Noon on ESPN Plus/GamePlan/ESPN360.com live from Lincoln Financial Field.
