Rukavyshnykova Leads Temple Women's Tennis At Cissy Leary Invitational

All-conference performer leads Owls in season opener

PHILADELPHIA - Senior Anastasiia Rukavyshnykova won her first two singles matches to lead the Temple women's tennis team at the Cissy Leary Invitational held on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania in their season opener Friday. A first team all-Atlantic 10 Conference performer last season, Rukavyshnykova was joined by junior Lucie Pazderova as the only Owls to win matches on the first day of competition at the three-day tournament.

Rukavyshnykova defeated Eliza Matache from Columbia, 6-1, 6-2, in the first round before dispatching Natalia Christenson (Columbia), 6-0, 6-2. Pazderova bested Columbia's Eliza Matache, 6-1, 6-2.
