Rosen honored as both a coach and player in Jan. 10 ceremony
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Temple lacrosse coach Bonnie Rosen was inducted into the Connecticut Lacrosse Hall of Fame on January 10, adding to a long list of honors she has achieved in her career. Rosen, earning the honor as both a former player and coach in the state, was one of seven inductees at the ceremony held at Yale University.
"I'm both thankful for and humbled by the honor," said Rosen. "I'm proud of the years I spent in Connecticut both as an elite player and college coach. The induction ceremony was a first-class event. It was an honor to be recognized amongst these coaches, officials and contributors to the game."
The Connecticut Lacrosse Hall of Fame was established to honor men and women, past and present, who by their deeds as players, coaches, officials, or administrators have contributed to the growth of lacrosse in Connecticut, and who by the example of their lives, personify the great contribution of lacrosse to our way of life.
The honor was the fourth of its kind for Rosen, who is also a member of the Philadelphia Jewish Sports Hall of Fame, the Eastern Pennsylvania Lacrosse Hall of Fame and the Harriton High School Hall of Fame.
Rosen is heading into her fourth season as head coach at Temple, after spending 10 years as head coach at the University of Connecticut. Rosen had spent two years coaching in the state of Connecticut prior to that, as an assistant at Yale for both lacrosse and women's soccer.
Rosen led the Owls to an Atlantic 10 Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2008, and was the 2008 A-10 Coach of the Year.
