Freshman picks up first honor of career
PHILADELPHIA - Freshman Kacper Rams has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week for Men's Tennis for the week ending January 24.
Rams posted an even 1-1 mark in singles play in Temple's first weekend of action for the 2010 season. The rookie played both matches from the number four spot, winning his second in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1, against Dartmouth.
Rams paired up with his older brother, Filip, at number one doubles to also split a 1-1 weekend. The duo's win came in the form of an 8-2 decision at Dartmouth.
Rams, who posted a 5-2 mark in singles and 7-2 record in doubles tournament play this fall, was competing in his first dual meet action as a member of the Cherry and White.
Temple (1-1) is back in action on Wednesday, January 27, when it travels to city-rival Penn for a 4 p.m. match against the Quakers.
