Men's Soccer Shutout At La Salle, 1-0

10.2.10 | Men's Soccer

Owls outshoot Explorers 17-9 on the game

Box Score

PHILADELPHIA
- There was no shortage of offense from the Temple men's soccer team (2-5-2) in its final Philadelphia Soccer Six match at La Salle (2-4-2).  The Owls outshot the Explorers 17-9 on the game, but did not see their efforts pay off in a 1-0 loss.

Just under 17 minutes into the match, La Salle's Ryan Richter netted unassisted the eventual game winner on a free kick just right of the net.

The Owls continued to pour on the shooting throughout the contest.  Temple dominated the second half, forcing Explorers' keeper John McCarthy to make five saves in the stanza.

Junior Tyler Witmer and sophomore Cody Calafiore led the way for TU, each registering four shots.  Owls' keeper Bret Mollon (2-5-2) made two saves on the day.

Temple has all week to prepare for its first Atlantic 10 match.  The Owls return to Ambler Sports Complex to host school rival Saint Joseph's on October 9.
