Conn garners recognition for second consecutive year

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - For the second straight year, Temple women's soccer junior forward Niki Conn has been named Atlantic 10 All-Conference Honorable Mention.  Conn led the team with a career-high 10 goals, becoming the Owls' first double-digit goal scorer since 2001.

Conn burst out with three goals in the Owls' first four games, then put together a streak of five straight games with a goal (9/17-10/3).  Twice this season she netted two goals in one game, in the end tying Brandi Wright (2001) for third all-time in Temple history for goals in a single season.

Combined with four assists, the Morton, Pa., native compiled a career-best 24 points on the season, a mark that also ranks tied for third all-time in a single season (Rachel Bentz, 1991).  Now with a total of 22 career goals, Conn is alone in fifth place all-time.

In the conference, Conn finished the season second in points and tied for second in goals.  She also led the league in shots, taking 86.
