Bergman and Mittag get singles wins for Temple
ORLANDO, Fla. - The Temple women's tennis team took on Bowling Green while in Florida for spring break on Wednesday, March 10. The Owls dropped a 5-2 decision to the Falcons to fall to 3-6 on the season.
Lucie Pazderova and Katharina Mittag got things started for Temple in doubles play, picking up an 8-5 win over Katie Grubb and Samantha Kintzel at the third flight. The Falcons secured the doubles point, however, with wins at numbers one and two.
Mittag knotted the score at 1-1 with a two-set singles win over Jade Johnson at number six, 6-2, 6-1, but the lead was short lived as Bowling Green took the matches at number three and five.
Josephine Bergman was TU's other point winner, knocking off Katia Babina, 5-7, 6-1, 10-8, at number two.
The Owls will be back in action on Friday, March 12, when they face Emory University at 3 p.m. in Orlando, Fla.
