Freshman gets second award of career
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Temple freshman Stephany Parcell has been named the Atlantic 10 Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week for the week ending April 11, 2010. The award is the second of Parcell's career.
Parcell came off the bench to score four goals in Temple's 18-17 win against Duquesne on April 11, including the game-winner with one minute left in the first half. She added three more goals in the second half including the final goal for the Owls. The midfielder also scored twice in Temple's 12-8 win at St. Bonaventure on Friday and recorded a draw control and caused turnover in that victory. Her scoring performances rank her fourth on the team with 14 goals this season.
Temple is 6-6 on the year, 3-2 in the A-10, and is back on the pitch on Friday, April 16, for a 4:00 p.m. game against conference rival La Salle at Geasey Field.
