Lacrosse Team's Adoption Story Featured on 6ABC Action News

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple lacrosse team's adoption of four-year old Lily Adkins through the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation drew local media attention, as the Owls were featured in a piece by 6ABC Action News on April 29. The three-minute clip can be seen online at 6abc.com.
Award-winning 6abc anchor Lisa Thomas-Laury came out to Temple's Geasey Field for the story. Among numerous other honors she has earned in her career, in 2008 Thomas-Laury was given the Liberty Bell Award from the Mayor's Commission on People with Disabilities. The Commission cited her devotion to improving the lives of people in the Delaware Valley who live with disabilities. Thomas-Laury, who began working for 6ABC in 1978, was herself diagnosed with a rare nerve disorder called POEMS syndrome in 2003. She recovered and returned to the station in 2006.
