Centerfielder earns first award of career

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Freshman Ali Robinson (Woodbury, N.J./Gloucester Catholic) has been named the Atlantic 10 Co-Rookie of the Week for the week ending April 4, 2010. The award is the first of Robinson's career.

Robinson was instrumental in two Temple wins over the weekend, batting .500 (3-for-6) with two doubles. The Owls took an 8-0 game from St. Bonaventure on Thursday, and came back to win 8-3 over the Bonnies on Friday.

The starting centerfielder in all 27 of TU's games this season, Robinson is second on the squad with a .266 batting average and 21 hits.

The Cherry and White are 10-17 on the season and 2-2 in A-10 play. The Owls are back in action on Wednesday, February 7, when they host cross-city rival Penn for a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 3:00 p.m.
