Owls to Host Four More Sessions
PHILADELPHIA – Temple football opened the first of five sessions of the annual Al Golden Football Camp over the weekend.
The camp had another great start as 548 campers attended Sunday's Memorial Day Weekend session.
Remaining camp dates for 2010 are: Sunday, June 6; Saturday, June 19; Thursday, June 24 and Sunday, June 27.
Last summer, Temple football rewrote attendance records for its five sessions of the annual Al Golden Football Camp for the second consecutive year. A total of 1,854 campers visited the Philadelphia campus, including a school record 661 high school student-athletes during the first session alone. Temple's previous record, set in 2008, was 1,625 campers, an increase of 14 percent.
Each camp session was staffed by the Temple football coaching staff as well as full-time coaches from Division I, I-AA, II, III, and premiere high school coaches from the Northeast Region. The student-athletes worked with some of the best coaches in the region and offered the campers maximum levels of skill development, technique, and instruction for their dollar. Each camper was also exposed to the Temple University campus, the football facilities, and training techniques used by the current Temple Owl football team.

A total of 21 of the 28 players that signed National Letters of Intent with Temple in February 2010 attended one of the camps in 2009. Over the last three years, 57 of Temple's 78 signees have participated in the Al Golden Football Camp.
Temple opens the 2010 season on Friday, Sept. 3 with Villanova at 5 p.m. in the second annual Mayor's Cup at Lincoln Financial Field.
