Temple Athletics Celebrates Record Employee Giving

PHILADELPHIA-- Fueled by the participation of 100% of its head coaches, the recently completed Temple Athletics Employee Giving Campaign reached record results in 2009-10.
For the fiscal year ending June 30, 2010, over 89% of Temple's full-time staff made philanthropic contributions to the Owl Club. A total of 77 of 87 full-timers gave, including every Temple head coach. Participation in the employee giving campaign rose 35% from the previous year, in large part to the continuing stability of the Owls' coaches, staff and administrators.
“I am extremely proud of our administrators and coaching staff for their efforts in this endeavor,” Director of Athletics Bill Bradshaw said. “Our giving level showed a considerable improvement over last year's involvement, and we strive to be leaders on campus in all our activities.
“Our combined Owl Club gifts will fund continued enhancements to our operations, which demonstrates our commitment to enhancing our student-athletes' educational opportunities and their experience here at Temple.”
Nearly half of all employee contributions were earmarked for the Owl Club Unrestricted Fund, which helps Temple Athletics' areas of greatest need allows Athletics to invest additional dollars for critical initiatives like summer school funding.
