Owls open Ambler with four straight home games
PHILADELPHIA - Four straight home non-conference games open a new season of Temple women's soccer in 2010, beginning at 5:00 p.m. on August 20 with city rival Villanova. In the same weekend, the Owls host Howard on August 22, while then welcoming Niagara (8/27) and Hartford (8/29) to Ambler Sports Complex.
Temple needs to enjoy its early homestand, as the Owls will not return to Ambler until October 8. Traveling to Albany on September 3, the Owls take part in the East Tennessee State Tournament where they will compete against host East Tennessee State (9/10) and Miami Ohio (9/12).
Following its southerly trip, the Owls head north to Vermont (9/17) and Maine (9/19), finishing the non-conference portion of its schedule at Wagner on September 26.
Atlantic 10 play begins on the road as the Cherry and White take on George Washington and Richmond on October 1 and 3. The team will reunite itself with Ambler Sports Complex with three straight home games, finishing the season on the pitch at Ambler in five of their last seven. Opening the homestand with school rival Saint Joseph's on October 8, conference champion Dayton and Xavier come to town the following weekend on October 15 and 17.
The Owls travel to Massachusetts (10/22) and Rhode Island (10/24) before closing out the season hosting Saint Louis (10/29) and A-10 runner-up Charlotte (10/31).
The Atlantic 10 Tournament will this year be held at the University of Rhode Island, running November 4, 5, and 7.
