Anastasiia Rukavyshnykova Selected To Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team

PHILADELPHIA - For the second straight year, Temple senior Anastasiia Rukavyshnykova has been honored as a member of the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area team, announced today. She is one of six women's tennis student-athletes to earn the recognition, voted on by the sports information offices of the 28 institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
Rukavyshnykova led Temple with a 17-13 singles record this year, including a 4-2 mark against Atlantic 10 opponents. She found her niche at the second flight, posting a 7-4 record there. In addition, the senior team captain teamed up with junior Lucie Pazderova to register a 13-5 doubles record that featured an undefeated 7-0 record at the number two flight.
A kinesiology major boasting a 3.81 cumulative grade point average, Rukavyshnykova was honored this season as a first team All-Atlantic 10 and Academic All-Conference selection.
Joining her on the team are Claire Afrassiabian (West Chester), Sally Kalani Stainer (Saint Joseph's), Daniela Rodriguez (Philadelphia U.), Luisana Souto (West Chester) and Rachel Wallwork (Swarthmore).
