Lacrosse's Alex Shapiro Earns All-America Honorable Mention from the Jewish Sports Review

PHILADELPHIA - Temple lacrosse junior Alex Shapiro was named honorable mention All-America by the Jewish Sports Review, a bi-monthly magazine based in Los Angeles, Calif. Shapiro recently completed her third season with the Owls and started in all 17 games.
Shapiro was one of eight in the Philadelphia area to earn recognition to the Jewish All-American lacrosse teams. Her 34 groundballs in 2010 ranked fourth on the team, while her nine caused turnovers tied for fourth.
As a team co-captain in 2009, Shapiro helped anchor the Owls' defense and lead the team to a 7-10 record overall and a berth in the Atlantic 10 Tournament.
