Denise Fitzpatrick Hired as Marketing Manager for Temple Athletics

PHILADELPHIA – Denise Fitzpatrick has been hired as the Marketing Manager for the Temple University Athletic Department beginning in August, 2010. Fitzpatrick comes to the Owls from The University of Texas, San Antonio, where she spent three years as the Marketing and Promotions Coordinator.
“Denise brings a lot of energy, enthusiasm and experience to the position,” said Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Promotions Scott Walcoff. “We welcome her to the Temple Athletics family and we feel she is the perfect person to engage our student body and fans in our marketing initiatives.”
Among many responsibilities at Temple, Fitzpatrick will supervise the cheer and dance teams as well as coordinate the student outreach efforts for the marketing department.
Fitzpatrick handled a number of areas in her position at UTSA, including coordinating game operations and in-game entertainment for soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball and softball. She aided in the development of a new season ticket holder rewards program, developed new corporate partnerships, created advertisements and promotions and organized a number of special events for the athletic department.
“I am really excited about being a part of Temple Athletics,” said Fitzpatrick, “and I'm looking forward to putting some of the things I learned while at UTSA into action here.”
Prior to her time at UTSA, Fitzpatrick spent a semester as an intern with the Columbia University athletic department. Her other experience includes volunteering with the Women's Sport Foundation and with the New York Islanders/Red Dragons.
Fitzpatrick graduated from SUNY Cortland in May, 2007, with a bachelor's degree in sport management. While earning her degree, she completed a practicum with the SUNY Cortland Athletic Department.
