Box Score

ORONO, Maine
- In their final game of the weekend, the Temple women's soccer team (4-5-0) was outdone by Maine (4-3-0), 2-1, on Sunday afternoon.  Junior Niki Conn netted her second goal of the weekend, successfully connecting on a penalty kick in the second half.

Maine went up 1-0 just before the end of the half, as Maggie Malone crossed a ball to Kelsey Wilson for a header past Owls' sophomore Gillian Kacsuta.

Wilson struck again in the 66th minute, taking a cross from Josee Descoeurs and sending it to the back of the net to put her team up 2-0.

Kacsuta (2-2-0) made three saves on the game, as did Maine keeper Meagan Leibenzede.

The Owls got on the board in the 72nd minute, as head coach David Jones called on Conn to take a penalty kick.  Conn took dead aim and put the ball past Leibenzede to cut the Owls deficit in half.

On the game, Maine outshot TU 12-8.

Conn now leads the Owls with five goals and fourteen points.  She has also amassed a whopping 37 shots this season, ranking first on the team in that category.

The Temple women's soccer team takes on Wagner in its final non-conference match of the 2010 season, slated for September 26 at 1:00 p.m.  The Owls' first Atlantic 10 matches will be on the road, taking on George Washington (Oct. 1) and Richmond (Oct. 3).
