Alumni & Fans Invited to Temple Tailgate Saturday at Penn State
9.22.10 | Football
Big football games and big tailgate parties essentially go hand-in-hand. Saturday's anticipated matchup between Temple and Penn State is no exception.
Temple alumni and fans traveling to State College for Saturday's nationally televised game are invited to the university's official "Temple Tailgate," a come-one-come-all celebration for Owl fans making the journey.
Temple has rented a 28' Fleetwood Pegasus cherry-trimmed recreational vehicle (RV) for the tailgate, which will be identifiable by Temple and Owl Club flags and a banner.
Located in the Orange Preferred RV lot near the intersection of Porter Rd. and Park Ave. [between lots #17 and #19 on the parking map] just northeast of Beaver Stadium, the Temple Tailgate opens at 11 a.m. Saturday in advance of the Owls' 3:30 p.m. tilt with the Nittany Lions. A variety of complimentary finger foods, snacks, desserts, beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages will be available while it lasts until 3 p.m.
“The 2010 Temple football season is off to a great start, and we're pleased at the number of folks making the trip to State College this weekend,” said Associate Athletics Director for Development Scott Koskoski. “The Temple Tailgate is our way to say thank-you for supporting the Owls and further engage Temple fans everywhere. We're looking forward to a great turnout and a fun time.”
Standard Commonwealth and university regulations apply regarding the consumption of alcoholic beverages. Fans are reminded of the Commonwealth's legal drinking age (21) as well as to not drink and drive.
