Women’s Rowing Opens Fall Season at the Navy Day Regatta

PHILADELHIA- The Temple Women's Rowing team opened up its fall season this weekend at the Navy Day Regatta on the Schuylkill River. This was the Owls first race under new head Coach Jason Read.
In the Women's collegiate 4+ Final which comprised of Ellie Oken (coxswain), Paige O' Sullivan (stroke), Taylor Wasserleben (3-seat), Brittany ADell (2-seat) and Kara Carson (bow) the Women placed 4th with time of 16:07.74. UPenn went on win the race with a time of 15:31.80
In the Women's Championships Eight Temple Women “A” which comprised of Jillian Malkowski (coxswain), Paige O' Sullivan (seat-8), Taylor Wasserleben (seat-7), Joanna Sutor (seat-6), Jackie Lees (seat-5), Megan Boyer (seat-4), Dana Meadows (seat-2) and Claudia Loeber (bow) finished in 6th place with a time of 14:46.62 and Women “B” which comprised of Ellie Oken (coxswain), Kara Carson (stroke), Victoria Joye (seat-7), Sarah Barber (seat-6), Brittany Adell (seat-5), Angela Flinn (seat-4), Kara Jackson (seat-3), Lauren Kidd (seat-2) and Caroline Slusarczyk (bow) finished in 12th placed with a time of 15:25.37. Navy finished the race in first place with a net time of 14:23.81
The Owls next compete at the Head of the Schuylkill on October 29th, 2011.
