Women's Tennis Wraps Up Play at Hofstra Fall Invitational

Doms and Osei active for Owls on Sunday
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Sophomore Alicia Doms and freshman Maame Ama Osei both concluded play at the Hofstra Fall Invitational on Sunday, October 9. The event was held at the Hofstra Tennis Center on Friday-Sunday, October 7-9, 2011.
Doms, the top-seeded singles player at the tournament, took on fourth-seeded Monika Graff of NJIT. The sophomore put up a valiant effort, but ultimately dropped a three-set decision, 7-5, 2-6, 10-8.
Osei, playing in the consolation bracket, opened the day with a 6-4, 6-1, win over Nina Myevska of NJIT. The rookie the took on Jana Luste, also of NJIT, in the consolation finals. It took three sets, but Luste eventually came out on top, 6-3, 1-6, 10-7.
The Temple women's tennis team concludes fall play at the ITA Regional championship October 21-25.
