Owls Host Miami on Wednesday Night on ESPN

PHILADELPHIA – The College Football Performance Awards honored sophomore QB Chris Coyer (Oak Hill, Va.), junior PK/P Brandon McManus (Hatfield, Pa.), and senior TE Evan Rodriguez (North Bergen, N.J.) with Honorable Mention national player of the week accolades on Sunday.

Named Honorable Mention QB of the Week, Coyer saw his most action behind center yet, playing three solid quarters in Wednesday night's 35-31 loss at Ohio. He finished with career highs of 8-of-14 for 123 yards and a team season-high three passing touchdowns while leading the Owls in rushing for a career-high 184 yards.

The weekly honor is the first for Coyer.

Named the HM kickoff specialist, McManus made a 27-yard field goal and four points after touchdown to extend his consecutive streak to 33 makes.  McManus kicked off six times for 414 yards (69.0 avg.).  He also punted five times for 215 yards (43.0 avg.), two of which landed inside the 20.

This is McManus' fifth weekly honor from the CFP this season.

Named the HM tight end, Rodriguez had three receptions for 26 yards and a five-yard touchdown catch at Ohio.

This is Rodriguez' second weekly honor from CFP.

Temple (5-4, 3-3 MAC) hosts Miami [OH] (4-5, 3-2 MAC) on Wednesday, Nov. 9 at 8 p.m. at Lincoln Financial Field in a key MAC East match-up.  ESPN will televise the game live nationally.
