Men’s Gymnastics Looks to Maintain Momentum Hosting William & Mary

Meet time schedule for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday
PHILADELPHIA - The No.10 Temple men's gymnastics team looks to stay atop the EIGL as the Owls face off against the William & Mary Tribe on Saturday, February 19th at 7:30 p.m. at McGonigle Hall. The Owls, who moved up in the rankings for the second straight week, are currently the sixth ranked team in the East Region.
The Owls come into the competition boasting a 9-2 record and a three score average of 332.333, placing them at the top of the pack in the EIGL Conference. Temple has received strong contributions from several upperclassmen, including junior Chris Mooney, who ranks sixth in the conference on floor (14.100).
Senior Patrick McLaughlin has come on strong for the Owls. McLaughlin, returning this season from injury, leads the conference on the parallel bars (14.300). Senior Adam Al-Rokh is off to a sensational start as well, ranking first in the conference on pommel horse (13.733) and second with an all-around average score of 81.900.
To maintain their national ranking, the Owls will have to overcome a young William & Mary squad. So far in 2011, the Tribe has been off to a slow start, ranked sixth in the EIGL. However, they have been pleasantly surprised by contributions they have received from freshman Daniel Potemski, who currently leads the team with an all-around average of (76.500).
Action in McGonigle Hall is slated to being at 7:30 p.m. The Owls are also hosting the Temple Boys' Invitational this weekend, taking place in McGonigle Hall on February 18-20.
