8th Annual Owl Club Auction Again Sets Record

PHILADELPHIA - Over 30 event-day volunteers, each of Temple's sport programs and nearly 175 item donors joined the Owls' athletics development staff in producing another record result as the 8th Annual Owl Club Auction took center stage at The Liacouras Center on Sunday, Feb. 20.
The popular one-day event set a revenue record for the sixth consecutive year, bringing in $74,906 to benefit more than 565 Temple student-athletes across the university's 24 varsity sports. The previous record, set in 2010, was $63,433. Sunday's event featured a 149-lot silent auction, a ten-item live auction featuring unique Temple and sporting experiences and a special tradition: the "Basket of Cheer," a selection of gourmet wines and spirits that netted a new record for raffle revenue.
Co-chairing the 8th annual auction again were Owl Club Executive Board members Amy Larovere and Bill Barnes.
"This defines 'team effort,'" said Associate Athletics Director for Development Scott Koskoski. "From Amy and Bill's consistent volunteer leadership, to the work of our event day team and our own staff, and the many grateful donations to make the event as large as it is, the auction is gaining stature as a staple of the Temple Athletics year.
"This is a positive difference for Temple's student-athletes and we can't wait to break our own record again next year," Koskoski said.
